Mr. Scruff‘s first studio album since Trouser Jazz (2002), Ninja Tuna mixes up all of Andy Carthy’s favorite influences and turns them into a funny, unique, amiable and distinctively British sound sure to start parties, destroy dancefloors and soundtrack your spring cleaning so successfully you’ll find yourself getting deep into that dusting. This DJ sampler brings you a selection of the best tracks from Ninja Tuna, along with a few bonus tracks and remixes, featuring guests such as Quantic, Roots Manuva, Alice Russell, Andreya Triana, and Pete Simpson. And for you vinyl addicts out there, all of these tracks are available for purchase on 12″ as well. Mr. Scruff has done it again:
“Ninja Tuna” offers a great variety of the best contemporary clubsounds: from Future Jazz & Soul to Dubstep borrowings, bassdriven futuristic Hip Hop and uplifting House Anthems. No matter which stlye he drops, anything is produced stylistically appropriate.
And all tracks combine the power and quality of clubtunes with subtle songwriting. My favourite tune is the killer version 2 of Cat & Mouse. Love & Respect.

  1. No trackbacks yet.
