“Hard hitting electro” – Rolling Stone

“A brilliant young British talent”
Pete Tong, BBC Radio 1

Following the universally loved single “Easy” with Porter Robinson, LA-residing British producer Mat Zo continues to assert himself as one of the most prodigious talents in EDM today with the release of the high-energy club anthem “Pyramid Scheme” featuring Public Enemy’s legendary Chuck D (out now on iTunes and Beatport). Propelled by Chuck D’s distinctive vocals (who re-recorded his “Rock The Funky Beat” hits specifically for the track), “Pyramid Scheme” blends elements of electro-house, hip-hop and big room progressive in Zo’s unique, dancefloor destroying style.

“I’m a massive hip hop fan, so this was a big moment for me. I’d always wanted to work with a great hip hop artist, and Chuck D is definitely one of the greatest,” says Zo of the collaboration.

Nice project with a good variety of remixes that should help this work in a variety of clubs & radio.

Lovin’ the club mix. On a side note is it ok to be tired of Dubstep and Trap?

Hits hard (not what I spin), sounds good. But, The Chuck D presence on this track does not count as a “feature”, even if he did re-record the sampled sentence fragment for it. It’s misleading.

  1. No trackbacks yet.
