FAQ

To download our DJ promos, you must be a registered member, and you must be logged in: MEMBER LOG-IN

LOGIN:

Q: I am a member of the Giant Step DJ Service, but I have never logged in to my account. What is my login/password?
A: To create a new password or reset your current one, all you need is your login OR email. Just visit RESET PASSWORD.

Q: Why do I not appear to be logged in after my login is confirmed?
A: Currently this DJ Service site is not fully synced with our main membership database, so although you may be logged into our system, the wordpress architecture of this DJ Service site will not identify you. Hopefully this issue will be resolved in the near future. You should be able to download promos once you sucessfully log-in. You should also be able access your profile, our member forums, and the feedback section on the main Giant Step site. You can also comment everywhere on this DJ Service site by entering the required info along with your comment.

Q: I am a member of the Giant Step DJ Service, so why I am still being told that I “must be a member to download” after I log-in?
A: If this is happening to you, it means that you have multiple Giant Step membership accounts and the one you are using is not registered with the DJ service. Your “DJ” membership is probably registered under an old or alternate email address. If you need help to remedy the situation, feel free to contact us.

Q: How do I log-out?
A: Login status is handled by the architecture of our main Giant Step site. To log-out, click the “log-out” button in the “member information” section on the left hand column of the Giant Step homepage.

MEMBERSHIP:

Q: How can I become a member of the Giant Step DJ Service and gain access to DJ promo downloads?
A: You can apply for membership via our APPLICATION FORM.

Q: Does it cost money or are there requirements to be a member of the DJ service?
A: Membership is free, however you must be an active DJ, music supervisor, journalist, or industry rep to qualify.

Q: I am a member of the Giant Step DJ Service and have received promos in the past, but I have never logged-in to my account. What is my login/password?
A: If you never registered on our site before, a temporary account has been set up for you, along with a temporary password. To recover loging info, please REQUEST PASSWORD.

DOWNLOADS:

Q: Why are the downloads not working for me?
A: Either you are not logged in as a “DJ” member, or we may be experiencing a system error and you should try again later.

Q: What am I downloading?
A: All of our downloads are zip files that contain one folder holding the various MP3 files. When a download is complete, the zip file should be sitting on your desktop or wherever your computer/browser preferences are set to save downloads. Unzipping should be as simple as double-clicking the zip file.

Q: Why are the MP3 files I downloaded not working?
A: All MP3s have been tested in both iTunes and Serato, so the problem is most likely due to your computer, programs, or hard-drive. If you are sure that this is not the case, feel free to contact us.

Q: How can I get higher-quality audio files (WAV, AIFF, etc.)?
A: The audio standard for our DJ service is 320kbps MP3. Due to a variety of issues (mainly relating to bandwidth), we are not currently offering WAV for download, however lossless audio (such as WAV & AIFF) and/or vinyl may be available, depending on the project. If that’s what you need, feel free to request via our contact form, and we will see what we can do to hook you up.

FEEDBACK:

The Giant Step DJ Service relies on the support and feedback from our members in order to satisfy the needs of our clients (record labels, artists, DJs, producers, and bands). You can submit feedback for some of our DJ promos at www.gsmusicmarketing.com/feedback, or you can comment directly on the posts at this site. If you are playing our promos, please make sure you send us your charts & playlists.

I really like the new dj promo online service however i was not able to successfully process feedback
on the tracks. i kept getting some outlook default message. i will check with my administrator
to assure there is nothing funky happening on this end. thanks GS i have always been extremely down
with and appreciate of the music and your consistent professionalism in an ever changing industry.

    be well!

    @Ron Boston
I think the problem is with your Outlook or computer settings. For some promos on this site (like the recent Dusty & JBB joints) we will NOT be collecting feedback via giantstep.net/feedback — so for these, clicking on the “feedback/requests” button should automatically launch a message to us in your default email browser…
